The design and manufacturing requirements for automobile tire mould, especially for the meridian tire mould, are improved due to the developments of their features of complicated shapes, various types and high working accuracy. To date, the design of tire moulds is only limited to the CAD/CAM technology. Consequently, more attention should be paid to other programs to obtain better design and manufacturing. On the basis of analysis above, the resources at the different areas need to be integrated by advanced computer network and telecommunication technology in order to realize communication and share the resources, for example, technology, talents, information and knowledge. The technology mentioned above is defined as networked manufacturing. The efficiency and quality of tire mould design are effectively increased with the application of the networked manufacturing technology.As a subordinate part of the National 15th plan project, the networked manufacturing system of automobile tire moulds is based on meridian tire mould in this article. The detailed work is as follows:1. In this article, the characteristic of mould manufacturing and the researches on the manufacturing system at present are firstly analyzed, and then the networked manufacturing system for tire moulds is put forward, including functional design, physical and logistic system design, user analysis and safe controlling technology.2. Based on the analysis of information coding standard, the classification and coding method is obtained. In the meanwhile, the description of different system manufacturing resource is finished and the algorithm for resource search is designed. Especially, the management of manufacturing resource is also represented according to the software and hardware resources.3. The deep investigations on cooperative technology are carried out with the software and hardware realization.4. To meet the need of convenient application and safe system, the SSO is designed on the integrated subsystem. And the sharing of cookie is also realized by using the specific ASP computer language.5. According to the design and manufacturing features of automobile tire moulds, the networked manufacturing system is developed on the B/S structure. And then the specific procedure of design and manufacturing is shown with the example of meridian tire mould.
