With the rapid development of the Semantic Web, ontology technology has made tremendousdevelopment. In the information search and the medical system, ontology technology have played avery important role.In the past few years, the number of ontology on the network has rapidlyincreased, so with the Ontology scale. Big ontology searchs inefficient and difficult to update. Mostof these ontologies have built by experts in the different fields, there is a great heterogeneitybetweeen them. The elements of semantic ontology have multiplicity of information, therelationship between the ontologies are non-uniformity.These problems have become a bottleneckrestricting the further development of the Semantic Web.In order to overcome the big ontology, this paper proposes a distributed ontology systemmodel-OSUDE (Ontology System under Distributed Environment). The main role of this system isstorage, update and reasoning. This system is more reliable and scalable than centralized system.Theidea of OSUDE is to split a big ontology into small pieces (little ontology), assign these pieces tonetwork nodes (each node with an reasoner). In the query process, the master node coordinate othernodes to do resoning, return the final answer to the user after comprehensive results from eachnode. However, including storage, update and storage, distributed ontology technology is still lack ofa standard. For these situations,The OSUDE focuses on the ontology segmentation, ontology updateand cooperative reasoning.Combined with Univ_Bench ontology,we test distributed ontologyreasoning and prove the effectiveness of the mothod.
