RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification, RFID) is a contactless automaticidentification technology based on RF wireless communications. Ultra-high frequency (UHF) radiofrequency identification has been a wide range of applications due to its recognition speed andrecognition distance in the logistics industry. This thesis, based on Matlab platform, takes on thesimulation analysis and study about the ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID reader based on codedivision multiple access mechanisms.Firstly, this paper introduces the development status of the RFID system at home and abroad,the basic concepts of RFID systems, the basic working principles and the standards for RFIDtechnology. Then the basic principles of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and itsapplications in RFID are introduced. The spread spectrum communication principle and thepseudo-noise code performance characteristic are highlighted in this section as well. Successively,we research the regular reader design, analyse the protocol characteristics of coding and modulationtechniques based on ISO18000-6C protocol, present ultra-high frequency RFID reader transmitterand receiver design proposal, design PIE and FM0data encoding and decoding procedures and alow-pass filter using the Matlab system function and FDATool correspondingly. Finally,system-level time-domain simulation of RFID reader forward and reverse links, is carried on byutilizing Matlab/Simulink. The BER performance of the simulation and anti-collision performanceassessment program based on the combination of code division multiple address and frame slot, areanalyzed also.Simulation results show that the presented UHF RFID reader layout using a combination ofcode division multiple access mechanism and frame slot is feasible, the layout achieves shorterpseudo-code period, faster response time, higher efficiency of anti-collision, and can handlemultiple tags information, improve the utilization rate of wireless spectrum.
