Configurable Construction Machinery Controller Design And Implementation

Construction machinery is a important equipment of the national economic construction, which plays a very important role in urban construction, transportation, irrigation and water conservancy, energy development, disaster relief and national defense construction. In recent years, with the rapid development of the national economy, the amount of infrastructure construction continued to increase, which led to the increasing demand for construction machinery.Construction machinery controller and its associated control system is one of the important factors determining the construction machinery’s properties. As the core of the control system of the construction machinery, construction machinery controller collects the sensor information of the construction machinery to get the working status of the construction machinery and controls the construction machinery running stably and efficiently through the internal control algorithms. In addition, controller should be able to respond the operation of the operator in time.Considering the functional requirements of engineering machinery, the design of the configurable controller is based on ARM Cortex-M3microcontroller LPC1777. The hardware design of the controller has high flexibility, so it can be used as a soft PLC system hardware platform. The controller has a configurable analog and digital inputs,and digital and pwm outputs through CPLD. Users can chose the type of inputs and outputs based on the application of the system requirements.The controller extend Flash and SDRAM providing adequate space for CoDeSys transplant, which improve the flexibility and openness of the development of the control system. RS-232port,LIN bus and CAN bus are also designed to communicate with PC and the senors of the construction machinery.
