Firstly, the paper elaborates the research background and the basic working principle of DDS and PLL.Then analysis the DDS spurious characteristics and the sources of PLL loop noise. Compare the three implementations of frequency synthesizer. Proposed an improved design for solving that when using the program that PLL interpolate DDS.the filter is difficult to achieve.Secondly, this paper has designed a K-band frequency synthesizer by using the program that the DDS directly incentives PLL and presented the design process of DDS and PLL on the hardware and software is elaborated.With the help of the software of ADISimPLL.the work that designing the loop filter and simulating the PLL performance has also been finished.All of the testing results are showed up.Analysis the possible reasons that result the differences between test and simulation. Study the influents on the in-band phase noise of reference source and phase detector chip.Study the frequency synthesizer’s electromagnetic compatibility problems on the PCB design and the debugging methods.Thirdly, it is also designed with a K-band pass filter in this paper by using the SIW technology. With the help of the HFSS software,this paper has modeled and simulated the filter.It has also finished the work of maching and testing.Analysis the causes that result in the differences between simulation and test.Finally, point out the inadequacies of the design and propose the relevant solutions.
