With the rapid development of mobile communication technology, mobile communication long term evolution (LTE) technology is a new technology research and development project afterwards3G technology. And for LTE baseband physical layer protocol data processing, most companies are using SOC design technology to design LTE protocol baseband processing chip.In the field of ASIC design, the size and function of SOC design are expanding continuously and quickly, which makes SOC validation work becoming an important partion in the chip design.The original simulation verification, static verification and formal verification means have been unable to fully meet the functional verification of SOC demand. But FPGA prototype with its unique characteristics in SOC verification has played a decisive role position. The FPGA prototype makes quickly SOC design RTL code mapped to realistic hardware environment, and it could let the embedded software design forward run at high-speed operation in real hardware environment, thus realizing SOC hardware and software design cooperating verification.The thesis for LTE baseband chip verification just discusses FPGA prototype verification. The hardware platform of FPGA prototype is based on S2C company’s Dual Virtex-7TAI LM.The core chip is Xilinx’s Virtex-72000T, which can achieve nearly20million gates logic circuit. And the software environment of FPGA prototype verification is also elaborated in detail, including transplant from SOC RTL code mode to FPGA RTL code mode, design partition analysis of FPGA verification, simulation for modules and interfaces in FPGA RTL mode, synthesize and implementation of project, timing constraint problems and so on. Finally, module and system level verification examples for function verification of LTE SOC chip are complished in FPGA prototype validation platform.
