Research On The Social Networking Applications In The Library

As many search engines such as Google, Baidu,rapidly growing, the original library’s userssignificant reduced,the Library "information center" position is in the waning. While at the sametime, the development of network technology, in particular the emergence of Web2.0technologyhas brought new opportunities for library development, the role of libraries in social networks"information bridge" has not changed, and how to use the community network concepts andtechnologies to enhance the level of library services has become the research focus of the currentlibrary community. In a network environment, libraries must change the mode of service, into thesocial network to provide services to fully meet the needs of users. Only in this way,it could extendthe field of library services to attract more users to realize the sustainable development of the library.Based on a realistic situation, this paper studies many stuff about the application of social networkin the library. First introduced the definition of social networks, characteristics and applications inthe library; then detailed the specific application of the social network in the library and cited thecase of social networks at home and abroad in the library, the same time, the case analysis, and thenpointed out that the social network in the library application process to overcome the problems andcountermeasures, and finally summarize the article.
