The quick development of domestic economy is increasingly eager for technology-applyingtype workers and pushing the development of vocational education. However, as the number ofstudents rushing into vocational school is becoming bigger and bigger, the difficulty ofeducational management is increasing. Evaluation of comprehensive qualities of a student is a keyjob in ordinary educational management.Because the result of this kind of evaluation will affect a student’s scholarship and his futureemployment, the evaluators will be so careful about this job that they usually spend much of timeon it. The work load of evaluation job is very heavy because many aspects need to be covered in it,score management need comply with regulations, and all the data need to be preserved at least fora term. In the mean while, heavy manual work will inevitably make mistakes or errors, which areunfair to students, affect students’ emotion, or even affect their school’s performance. So it is apractically significant job to evaluate a student’s qualities fairly, quickly and accurately by usinginformation technology.Based on the background above, the author develops an evaluation system for the students atbusiness and trade vocational school of southchina.The studies and results of the paper include:1、Investigating the situation of quality education within China and beyond, introducing thekey technologies needed to develop a quality-evaluation system and the detailed methods todevelop frameworks.2、Making a demand survey of developing a quality-evaluation system for students atbusiness and trade vocational school of southchina, determining the functions needed for thesystem and the general design scheme, providing concrete database model and flow diagrams ofmodules and system functions.3、Coding for and fulfilling such functional modules as system management, studentmanagement, evaluating content management, evaluating management and user management byusing the tools of mysql database and Dreamweaver CS5, PHP, JavaScript and CSS computerlanguage based on Windows XP+Appache server platform.4、Testing for units, modules, and system integration with verification examples.The evaluation system developed by the author provides a new tool to evaluating a student’scomprehensive qualities for school’s educational management. It can work quickly and save a lotof time for student’s managers and instructors.
