The base station antenna is the key parts in the mobile communication network, it notonly provide link with mobile station and base station, but also is the important equipment inthe mobile communication technology application such as frequency reuse, diversityreception, optimization cover, etc. Accordingly, strict performance requirements for variousapplication technologies on the performance of the base station antenna have been provided. In mobile communication systems, the effect of signal coverage is the important indexesto measure this system. Mobile communication environment is very complex, and subject tovarious losses interference in the process of dissemination. In order to meet the differentscenes demands, to optimize the design pattern of the beam for the base station antenna, it isimportant to study for the best coverage of the mobile communication signal. In this article,we explore the various factors that affect the network coverage by adjusting the antennaparameters to achieve optimal coverage. The main research directions based on the principles and basic performance requirementsof the mobile communication base station antenna are consisted of three aspects. First, skewerror for the introduction of the polarization pattern measurements in the horizontal plane ofthe base station antenna azimuth coverage pattern analysis, the best horizontal plane beamwidth values for specific scenes drawn from the theory and simulation, and actual engineeringexperience value for comparison. The half-power beam width to the base station antennas inurban environment should be adjusted to66.5degrees. In the environment of rural areas ofthe base station antenna half-power beam width should be adjusted to87.3degrees; Second,In analysis of dual-polarized antenna, due to the introduction of cross-polarization power, forbase station antennas the horizontal plane beam width should be63.5and83.95degrees,respectively, for the above two areas that are very close to the actual test values under takingcross-polarization ratio of15dB; Third, considering the antenna vertical plane pattern for thedistance covered within the coverage area and the horizontal beam width mutual optimization, the analysis of a variety of different gain antenna coverage uniformity and coverage strengthpresented for a variety of the actual scene, on this basis obtained that the antenna parametersshould been reasonable settings and required based on the work environment for the bestcoverage effect.
