Star-rated hotels are like a city’s business cards to visitors. Advanced management as well as its well-equipped facilities makes its customers feel as comfortable as at home. With the overgrowing competition in the hotel industry, hotel management also becomes demanding. The development of the hotel management system can be better realized by the combining of the Internet and computer technology. While a function-oriented developing method can not fully meet the lifting of efficiency, an object-oriented (OO) modeling method can meet the complexities with low risks.UML (Unified Modeling Language) is a standard, powerful and wide-compliant modeling language notation for the modeling of real-world objects in developing an object-oriented design methodology. It has many merits of OPP and represents a new trend in this regard. This paper discusses the systematic exploration of hotel management development with PowerDesigner and focus on the following aspects:1) Using PowerDesigner as the object-oriented tool in developing hotel management system;2) Focusing on object-oriented method to help realize customers’goals in analyzing, computing, calculating as well as enquiry the dynamic data;3) Fully apply the MIS system supporting decision-making to the various types of data analysis system and to generate a variety of graphics, charts, and reports. In this way the management and decision-makers can easily get access to the current status of hotel operations, sales and market demand data, therefore enhancing the hotel profits and reduce hotel costs, thus enhance the internal management and control staff working state;4) The system functions on the basis of the database and business processes to achieve permission settings and to ensure maximum security of the system;5) Using the B/S system structure to provide users with a network-based, integrated platform to fully achieve information sharing and information exchange.
