Research And Development Of Special Mobile Terminal Based On Hybrid DS/SMS Protocol

Positioning information service has always been a hot topic since mobile communication was born. With the development of society, the positioning information service is becoming more and more important. For instance, all families are deeply concerned with the "positioning" relevant information of the old people and kids. Especially in an emergency, they need more accurate location information about them. Although the domestic mobile operators have put the positioning service as a core value-added service to develop, they have two big problems in realistic applications. The first problem is that the positioning information is not accurate enough, while the second one is that the current positioning service is too expensive. In order to solve these problems, we investigate the applications of GPSone-based positioning service. Based on the DS and SMS services provided by mobile operators and the positioning platform operated by the third party, we have developed completed a set of protocols for use in special mobile terminals.The research work of this thesis includes the following aspects:(1) With the independent third party consulting company’s market research and our analysis of products already on the market. We finished the systemic functional planning for special mobile terminals;(2) Based on DS and SMS services, we propose a set of hybrid DS/SMS protocols suitable for special mobile terminals. These protocols are flexible to extend and can be used to reduce the cost of LBS effectively.(3) Making full use of different GPSone technologies, we propose and design two positioning modes, namely accuracy-priority mode and data-optimization mode. These positioning modes improve the mobile positioning success rate significantly.(4) Measures have been taken to deal with the issues of network compatibility and conflicts between concurrent services such that users can enjoy the same experience under different network scenarios.After extensive testing and the successful launch of two mobile terminals, it proves that the hybrid DS/SMS protocols are stable, reliable and successful.
