In our country, the coal as main energy resource is becoming more extensive attention, thecoal mining industry have developed rapidly. Although safety devices of coal mine havecontinuous improvement, the fate casualties happened frequently because of complex and hostileenvironment. Therefore the working person on the ground need to know the undergroundworking person distribution, once an accident occurs, they can understand the quantity andposition of trapped personnel, and improving the efficiency of rescuing trapped person.This paper introduces the domestic and foreign development and trend of personnelorientation system, and choses CC2430/CC2431based on ZigBee technology to form ZigBeewireless through the comparison of several techniques. According to the analysis of RSSIpositioning algorithm,the deficiency of the algorithm is amended and improved. Finally provedto have feasibility of the positioning accuracy using the improved algorithm through simulation.This paper maked a detailed hardware design for the various parts of the system, includinglocation station, reference node, mobile positioning node and communication processor. locationstation adopted S3C2440A that is one of the ARM9series as the core processor, it increased therapidity and stability of the system. At last, it introduced the software design of undergroundpositioning part and a ground control part.The system is capable of real-time monitoring the distribution of underground staff,andeffectively preventing the happen of unexpected events and reducing casualty rate of accidents.Inaddition, functions of daily management and attendance greatly improves the efficiency of minemanagement, it has very high value to enterprise.
