The Realization Of The University Data Center

With the development of the university informational construction, the school hasestablished more and more application systems, the application systems can satisfy the needsof each department daily work. But each system is established respectively, most of them usedifferent database system, data structure and data formats, it is difficult to share informationbetween different application systems, and large data repeated storage, the data sourcechanged caused many problems, such as data inconsistency, data redundancy and data is notcorrect, all the above problems affected the school information processes and reduce theworking efficiency. In order to use the school’s information resources efficiently and realizeinformation sharing, we urgently need to integrate data, build a sharing data center applicationsystem.This paper introduces the present situation of the university informatization constrction,and designs a university’s information construction scheme to solve the existing problems onthe basis of the existing resources, designs and implements a university data center. In thispaper, we conduct the requirement analysis and summary design, make sure the systemfunction module, set up the structure of the system.In order to realize the university data center successfully, we need to design the metadatafor data extracting cleaning conversion loading and design the data model and the data flowof the data warehouse. This paper designed metadata for data intergration, formulated themetadata elements, every data item in the metadata table is good definition for data source,target database, data source and target database mapping, the metadata table is morereasonable and easier for the data center realization. Refered to the university managementinformation standard, combining the university actual situation, we defined a five layers datastructure of shared database, designed the data flow for data extraction, transformation andloading, and completed the filling process of the data warehouse.This subject adopts Myeclipse integrated development environment, use Tomcat server,Oracle database, implements an application system to establish a university data center. Thispaper introduces the realization of each function module, and test for the whole system. Thesystem provides the user friendly interface, realizes data automatic synchronization, completes the establishment of data center, solves the problems of data inconsistent anddifficult to share, provides data that real-time, accurate and authoritative to the user.
