Design And Realization Of HINOC MAC Testing System Based On Embedded Platform

High Performance Network Over Coax(HINOC) is a broadband access technologywith independent property right, which is proposed to promote the process of TriplePlay. Utilizing the out-of-band cable resources, HINOC provides subscribers withhigh-speed access services. With the proposal of draft standard of HINOC protocol,communication device manufacturers would produce associated device very soon. Toassure devices from different manufacturers can communicate with each other normally,it’s necessary to develop associated test system and provide a complete suit of test plan,then implement the conformance testing, interoperability testing and performancetesting on the devices.In this paper, mechanism of HINOC MAC protocol is introduced firstly. Then testtheory and test method are studied. Based on these, a test platform architecture forHINOC MAC protocol testing is proposed, which is independent of the realization ofHINOC PHY protocol. Followingly, test system based on the architecture mentionedabove is realized in HINOC simulation network. Then, we designed the abstract testsuite of signaling process of HINOC MAC protocol according to relevant testingmethod, generated executable test cases, and tested the signaling process of HINOCMAC protocol on the basis of the test system we designed before. Test results show thatthe test system can complete the test function smoothly. Furthermore, we realized therelevant module of the test system in real HINOC network, so that the prototype whichis still being developed is capable of testing HINOC MAC protocol.
