The development of China’s shipbuilding industry is at a critical stage to grow stronger. To enhance ship’s integrated technical and economic performance and market competitiveness, we need to strengthen the introduction, absorption and innovation of new technology, aim at advanced technology, economic cost and efficient construction in the shipbuilding process. Marine main engine cooling water system is one of the important systems to ensure safe and reliable operation of the marine power plant, to improve its economical efficiency, reduce its operating and maintenance costs, it is necessary to optimize the design of the whole system. Meanwhile, the cooling water’s temperature of the cooling water system will directly affect the operating efficiency of the main and auxiliary engines and other mechanical systems, in order to make the control of jacket cooling water’s temperature more stable, reliable and adaptable, and has a higher control accuracy, there is needs for a further research of the control method of the temperature controller of the cooling water system.This topic takes the main engine cooling water system of1100TEU container ship as the research object, which is build by the Taizhou Kouan Shipbuiliding Co., LTD. optimized it’s design and studied the intelligent control of the system’s cooling water temperature, the main research contents are:1) Elaborate the ship cooling water system’s development process, particularly introduce some basic forms of the central cooling water system which is commonly used by the ship nowadays, and make a detailed description of its circuits and heat exchange units.2) Analyze the internal laws and operating parameters of the main engine cooling water system, establish the mathematical model of the system for its optimization design, then solve the optimization problem by MATLAB calculation program, so as to determine the temperature parameters, complete the optimization design of the cooling water system.3) Do the thermodynamic analysis about main engine’s jacket cooling water system based on the theory of heat transfer, by taking the change of the heat transfer coefficient of the plate heat exchanger, which is influenced by the change of the cooling water temperature into consideration, establish the thermodynamic mathematical model of the cooling water system.4) According to the main engine jacket cooling water system’s thermodynamic mathematical model, establish the system’s simulation model by Simulink; Then analysis the system’s dynamic response curve due to the action of step signal, obtain the system’s approximate transfer function of control channel and disturbance channel.5) Research the characteristics and requirements of the control of the cooling water temperature, through the simulation analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the application of various control methods in cooling water temperature control, find out a superior control mode to overcome the system’s pure delay and big inertia.
