Marine cooling water system is the important part of the ship's power plant. Through the cooling water circulating, the heat that doesn't translate to mechanical energy which distributed away from the running of main engine and auxiliary engine has been taken away, and it has avoided the metal brittle fatigue and the invalidation of lubricating oil that comes from the accumulation of large number of heat. Therefore, the performance of marine cooling water system directly affects the performance of the main engine and auxiliary engine. If we want to optimize and bring into full play to the marine engine cooling water system performance,it is necessary to understand its thermal and hydraulic dynamic process at work.JFlow of GSE is a advanced tool for computer modeling and simulation in hydro network. The simulation for marine cooling water system based on JFlow embodies the characteristics of tracking, researching, and using new technology, thereby is worthwhile. This paper based on the marine cooling water system of china marine corporation Xin Qingdao 5668 TUE container vessel, the marine cooling water system hydraulic mathematical model has been founded through analysis of pipeline based on the theory of hydromechanics.Based on the theory of thermodynamics, through the thermal analysis of the heat exchanger and main engine,a thermal math model has been founded. Then the author use JFlow for simulating, the result is coincident with known data, thus verifying the correctness of the model.Based on this, malfunction simulation of the marine cooling system have been designed and realized, also, simulation interfaces of the marine cooling water system have been built. The final result and simulator could either be used as a part of the marine engine simulator or used separately.
