Since the beginning of the21st century, along with China’s rapid economic growth and the development of transport undertakings, in order to better support the rapid development of the economy, the construction of the national motorway has also entered the peak construction period, the total mileage has exceeded85,000km.Motorway mileage of rapid growth has brought great challenges to the daily management of the motorway, in particular the management of the motorway tunnel detection, motorway tunnel is with large number, long mileage and high accident rates, which is a major problem of motorway management.So the Real-time monitoring of surveillance tunnel situation has became an important part of the management of the motorway tunnel.Expressway tunnel monitoring system includes: the temperature and humidity of the tunnel, the tunnel road image, the carbon monoxide content of the tunnel, and wind speed. This article focuses on the acquisition of the temperature and humidity of the tunnel, which is the important basis to judge whether the tunnel fire occurred.As the long mileage and widely distributed detection range of the motorway, This article proposes and designes a motorway tunnel temperature and humidity detection system based on wireless sensor network technology. Wireless sensor network technology is a multidisciplinary emerging hot research field, which combines of a number of cutting-edge technology of sensor technology, embedded computer technology, communication technology. AMD it can make a real-time perception, acquisition, processing and transmission of the geographic area covered by the perception of an objectdetection information. Along with the rapid development of electronic information technology and communication technology, wireless sensor network technologies become more mature and practical, are widely used in various fields and industries. Compared with the traditional monitoring systems, wireless sensors have advantages of more accurate data collecting, wider monitoring range, lower system cost, and more flexible acquisition facilities deployment which are very suitable for the motorway industry.The paper first introduces the background and significance of the subject research and the status quo of the subject at home and abroad. Second it designs the system structure and network nodes of the monitoring system according to the characteristics of motorway. The programs include: the architecture of the system and the system’s technical solution.,which can also determine the the operating system used by the sensor nodes and aggregation nodes were TinyOS systems and Linux systems. The third part describes the design of the sensor nodes,which are Composed of processors, wireless networks, sensors, and energy supply module. These four modules are mutually reinforcing.when every part is optimality designed, a superior performance sensor nodes can be integrated. In the fourth part, it makes the construction of aggregation node to boot loader and the transplantation of linux system. The system’s codes are modified according to the needs of the system and the hardware to operate the system well. In the fifth part,it describes the process of network device driver, which makes sure that the network equipment can be properly identified and complete the data transceiver. In the sixth part,it tests the tunnel temperature and humidity monitoring system.The test consists of: node data collection test, data transmission test and the aggregation nodes run test, which analyze the performance of the monitoring system to confirm the accuracy of the collected data. Finally, the paper is summarized, demonstrating the defects and development prospect of the system, so that it can better applicable in the actual work environment.
