With the development of information technology and the promotion of informationilization construction of army, daily drill and military management are changing rapidly. It is the trend to implement automatization of military daily management. Now during informationilization construction of army, it is a big trouble that how to design equipment and material management system to manage equipment and material effectively. At peacetime in order to avoid the loss of disordered registration, it is essential to change the low efficiency of manual work. At the same time at the wartime, efficient advancing transportation of equipment and material can quicken the course of the manoeuver.This paper analyses and compare existing management systems of equipment and material, the distributed management system of equipment and material is proposed. The management system is composed of two hierarchies:sub-database and database. Sub-database solve the problem that how to manage equipment and material warehouses in different sites; database provides the administrators an uniform management mode to search and apply the equipments and material, and ensures the data reliability of two hierarchies. The distributed management mode transfers the instance that equipment and material warehouse located in a different site does things in its own way to forming uniform management mode. At the peacetime the management system is convenient for the management of equipment and material, and advances the management efficiency. At the wartime the management system provides reliable and efficient guarantee to defeat the local battle of high tech in informationization.The theory analysis and experiment show that the distributed management system of equipment and material designed and implemented by this paper can satisfy the demand of army for management of equipment and material at the peacetime and wartime.
