Study And Implementation Of Hierarchical Optimization Of Unicom’s GSM Dual-band Network In Dalian

Since China Unicom builds up GSM network, the number of subscribers develops rapidly. Due to June2010, GSM subscribers reached140million. Big scale of Users leads to conflict between the lack of mobile radio frequency resources, and the lack of radio channel. Therefore, we introduced the GSM1800M, the dual-band network. However, the current dual-band network traffic load is not good and the number of frequency switches too high, which increased the probability of dropped calls, and seriously affect the user’s perception. Solving the dual-band network issues and improving call quality are the focus of network optimization.Firstly, this paper gives GSM dual-band network a brief introduction, and then study the frequency multiplexing and switching algorithm. Then we analyze frequency multiplexing and switching algorithm used in Dalian Unicom GSM network to solve the problems. According to HCS Hierarchical principles, we propose a Hierarchical optimization based on the MPR frequency reuse and the combination of macro and micro switch. This method uses macro and micro switching replace inter-frequency PBGT switch, allowing users to stay in the GSM1800network at large, and expanding network capacity, reducing the inter-frequency switching, reducing the number of dropped calls, improving call quality. The value of key parameters, we adopt retroduction of measured data, combined with the daily experience to get reasonable values.By single station test, we testify the feasibility of the design. Then improve MRP frequence in GSM network and start the macro and micro switch. Finally, we compare all the indicators before and after implementation of the plan. The results show that the proposed scheme optimizes the GSM network, and improve call quality greatly.
