An appropriate scheduling algorithm is able to choose users which will transmit information with the same time and frequency resources in order to improve the system throughput and spectral efficiency. Therefore, this kind of algorithm has been one of the most active subjects in LTE and LTE-Advanced systems due to the lack of available time and frequency resources. In the LTE uplink, V-MIMO makes use of spatial multiplexing to increase spectral efficiency. This paper summarizes the classical pairing criterions showing that the scalability and adaptivity of existing algorithms is poor. According to these two disadvantages, it proposes an adaptive pairing scheduling algorithm which can embody the feature of orthogonal criterion and capacity maximized criterion and especially take the advantage of MMSE-SIC receiver. The simulation result indicates that the proposed pairing algorithm has ameliorated the users’throughput and system fairness. In the LTE-Advanced uplink, CoMP by means of mitigating inter cell interference significantly achieves the same effect, improving the system throughput. The existing CoMP methods have to completely obtain the channel information, which leads to a serious increase of backhaul between eNBs. To solve this problem, two scheduling algorithms are proposed. The first one aims to reduce the interference by avoiding scheduling the users with high interference. The other one tends to schedule the users which will work on the improvement of system throughput without the fairness getting lost. The simulation result reveals that the two proposed coordination scheduling algorithms, making good use of signaling information, have provided the merits of improvement to system throughput and power efficiency.
