With the rapid development of IOT(the Internet of Things) technology, applications based on IOT are applied in our life more and more widely, so that we have to pay more attention on the security and stability of IOT. Network management system is the key to maintain and ensure network’s security and stability. Further, a complete and accurate network topology map is the basis of network management, network optimization and network fault location.First, this paper makes a research and analysis on several topology discovery algorithms both in the Internet field and the IOT field. Improvement and refinement of the traditional topology discovery algorithm based on cluster are made. Energy model and data combination technology are used. Second, this paper designs a topology discovery model which is based on the network layer protocol. After that a topology discovery prototype system based on the application layer protocol is designed according to the improved topology discovery algorithm. Also this paper gives a specification of the two systems’ main model and functions. Then analysis is made on the traditional visualization technology based on the mechanical model and improvement is made to solve the problem of the model’s process. Finally, a topology discovery system is implemented combining the improved topology discovery algorithm based on cluster and the improved visualization technology based on mechanical model.Demonstration experiments are presented by using the simulation platform NS2and it shows that this topology discovery model is able to discover the topology in IOT.
