Research On Techniques Of Network Topology Discovery

With the rapid development of information and network technology, computer network technology is widely used in education, national, defende, communication and other various fields of social life. Network scale is more and more big and network structure is becoming more and more complex. So we need to be more effective for managing our network. The network topology is the foundation of all network management function, so the discovery of network topology is the premise and foundatio of network management. Accurately and effective obtain network topology become the common demand of today’s organizations.This paper first studied the domestic and foreign scholars,each univerisy, research insitute of research quo about network topology discovery techniques and the network topology discovery involved in related concept, principle. From two aspects to studied the network topology discovery technology, respectively is the logical layer of the network topology and the physical network topology.In logical layer network topology discovery first studied the advantages and disadvantages that exist in the mainstream of logical topology discovery algorithm. Propose logic layer topology algorithm based on the SNMP, this algorithm solved the disadvantages of the mainsteam in the logical topology discovery,the algorithm found in accuracy,load,speed,etc,were superior to the traditional topology discovery algorithms. The key problem for network topology discovery is physical topology discovery. Proposed the diffculties existing in the physical network topology discovery,study and analysis the existence defect algorithm about the based on the address forward table and proposed the algorithm based on switch spanning tree protocol.The improve algorithm solved the dependency probled on addredd forward table and do not need to inject additional flow. The improve can also found the redundant links and have high accuracy.In this paper,based on the above algorithm,using C++and Visual Studio for relization of the corresponding system function and compare the performance of various algorithms.
