The Current Research On Female Host Image In Tv News Program

If we take a glance at the development of hosts in China in the past30years, we may find that hostesses in TV news program is media person who is very popular to the public and especially the television news anchor that not only informs people of news and information, but also affects people’s feelings on the news through a non-verbal way. This effect depends mainly on two aspects. First, the different ways of expression caused by the different media systems and news concepts; second, the shaping of female image also affects the credibility and affinity of the news.This thesis is a study on the image of hostesses in present TV news programs through the methods of literature research, behavior research and comparative study."Four Theories of the Media", also known as " Four Theories of the Press ", written by the well-known media scholars---Frederick·S·Siebert and Wilbur Schramm, presented their theoretical perspectives from the relationship between journalism and political system, focusing on the control and freedom of the news media in different social and political systems according to the basic principles of political and social theory.What the "Four theories" shows are the world’s major media systems, and it not only creates a classification system of a medium, but also reflects different views on news under these media systems. Different concepts of news are bound to produce different expressions of news."Four Theories of the Media" and those later analyses on news media systems of different countries around the world demonstrate such a basic fact:the news and information theories are diversified. However, no matter left-wing, right wing, or neutral scholars all get endless inspiration from the four theories. The inspiration we get is that the way of announcing or hosting of varied nations is affected by these media systems and news concepts, which will deepen our thinking and exploration on the traditional theory of broadcasting. Besides, this thesis tries to analyze the problems existing in the image of hostesses in present TV news programs through behavior research, finding a reasonable solution and the hostess image which can enhance the credibility and affinity of the media.This article reflects and explores hostesses’image in TV news programs which is suitable to China’s national conditions through the analysis and absorption of journalism classic" Four Theories of the Press". This paper argues that current news view in our country is trying to critically inherit the Communist news theory and news theory of responsibility, combining the Party spirit with news spirit, that is to say, to closely combine news with the cause of the party and people, to safeguard people’s "four rights", to take a close eye on people’s livelihood, to actively exercise duties on supervision and leading of public opinion, to coverage news in a real, objective, impartial and authoritative way, to shape hostesses’image in current TV news programs with Chinese characteristics. This article takes the above as the supporting point of the theory, providing reliable theories for news practices and training of TV hostesses.
