Research On The Compiling Achievements Of The Oral Archives Made By Zhang Xueliang

In China’s modern history, Zhang Xueliang was an indispensable and importantfigure. During the several decades that he had been put under house arrest, he nevertalked about his story easily. His legendary life, individual character together with thecomplex social environment adds the difficulty to the work of oral archives. However,after fully acquiring the political freedom, Zhang Xueliang had accepted personalinterviews by several institutions both at home and abroad. In recent years, these oralarchives based on these interviews have been released successively, which was mainlytook the form of oral archives compilation by Zhang Xueliang and the audio and videorelease. This thesis, focusing on the compiling achievements of the released oral archivesby Zhang Xueliang as the research object, makes an in-depth analysis of the collectionprocess of the oral archives made by Zhang Xueliang and explores the characteristics andvalue of the oral archives made by Zhang Xueliang and thus summarizes the beneficialreferences and deficiencies of the compiling achievements forming process of the oralarchives made by Zhang Xueliang. In this way, we can establish the theoretical basis forthe file department to develop the work of oral archives and provide the practicalreferences.This thesis can be divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction part,which defines the definition of oral archives and oral archives made by Zhang Xueliangand explores the researching value of the compiling achievements of the oral archivesmade by Zhang Xueliang. This part also summarizes the literature review of the researchof the oral archives made by Zhang Xueliang and talks about the purpose, significance ofthis thesis. The second part mainly focuses on the collecting process of the oral archivesmade by Zhang Xueliang. The third part analyses the characteristics of the compilingachievements of the oral archives made by Zhang Xueliang. The forth part summarizesthe beneficial references and deficiencies of the compiling achievements forming processof the oral archives made by Zhang Xueliang and explores something we need to payattention to in the work of oral archives.
