For Insurance Enterprise Mis Reporting System Design And Implementation

Especially, lots of foreign insurance companies have appeared in China along with opening-up in the domestic insurance market. This makes the original challenge more fierce. Enterprise managers try to find positive and effective strategies to solve the operating problems. However, both the commercial world and the market situation have various changes. If we still depend on the traditional experiences to make decisions for the enterprise, no one can predict whether the result will be successful or not. Following the construction of information industry for years, most companies have built up their own business system platforms, which has satisfied the demand of daily business and accumulated plenty of historical data at the same time. Business Intelligence is such a newly-developed technology, as transforms data to information, and then information to knowledge. And it is information and knowledge that can direct the decisions.Based on the research work in BI technology and application, this article made a systematical analysis for the business situation of an insurance company, and introduced the MIS Report System as an example case of BI application. This MIS Report System is designed on the basis of Data Warehouse and OLAP theory, and also takes the company’s actual situation into consideration. The article introduced the MIS Report System in two parts, the Data Mart and the Olap Reports. First, we talked about the integration of BI with MIS and insurance industry, and made a detailed analysis of the MIS Report System. Then, we described the whole process about how to develop a MIS report as an example, with DataStage and Cognos tools. Last, we performed the multi-dimensional view technology on report cubes and made a comparison among analysis graphs to discuss its advantages and suitable occasions separately.To build a reliable and authoritative data analysis platform is the goal of MIS Report System. With the promotion of Business Intelligence technology, the enterprise will surely possess a wider future.
