| Modern UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) plays an important role intopographic information access. This subject researches on Wireless VideoTransmission System, which can transmit high-definition video taken byUAV back to ground control center in real-time. This system has severalsalient characteristics: high speed, high bandwidth, small in size and lightin weight.The author is fortunate to participate in the UAV video transmissionsystem’s overall design, and complete a UAV subsystems source codingresearch. And then from the whole UAV system need to come to therealization of the program to design a device small size, light weight andhigh-performance encoding card.This paper starts from the research contents, then designs ahigh-definition video encoding card, which adopts MPEG-2videocompression technology. This card fulfills the encoding function whichinputs high-definition raw video(1080i/720p)through HD-SDI port, usingFPGA and MPEG-2dedicated chips to achieve video’s MPEG-2 compression. At last, by matching FPGA inner resources’ speed and using8B/10B transforming, compressed bit stream is output into wirelesstransmission module in ASI bit stream, then by using SJTU’s ADTB-Twireless transferring technology, the wireless real-time transmission of thehigh-definition bit stream has been achieved.Due to the MPEG-2algorithm’s characteristics, such as high quality incompression, high resolution ratio images, various classification forms,motion compensation and move estimation adoption, MPEG-2is suitableto the high-definition video application field. In the fields of images andvideos with high resolution ratio and high fidelity, MPEG-2is still animportant Video coding Standard. By studying MPEG-2algorithm andcommanding the corresponding FPGA chip and coding module usage, thissubject is to design functional FPGA logic, MCU program, and PCSoftware. By actual plate-making debugging, we can validate each of thesystem’s parts’ functions.The experimental result indicates the designed MPEG-2encodingdevice complicated in structure, but can achieve the real-time encoding ofhigh-definition Film&TV images, along with short delay, good imagequality and mini-structure, which most suitable to UAV video transformsystem. |
