| In this paper, we first introduce the development of next generation of wireless broadband multimedia communication systems(WBMCS) and the principle of COFDM (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Multiplex), followed by the transmission scheme for digital HDTV. According to the analysis of multipath channel, channel estimator and equalizer are needed. Based on the simulation with Matlab, a pilot-based channel estimation method is presented. Demapping and quantizer are also discussed in the paper. In the end, FPGA circuit is designed in Quartus.
