Different parts of speech of “X” can make different pragmaticseffects to the titles. Besides, the same of these two kinds of verbsis that both of them have two patterns:“V” and “X+V”. The “X”from some of the “X+V” structure has the function of emphasizing,besides describe the movement.Then thesis study the reason why the structure of “XV”, whichformed by adding the “X” before one syllable verb, always usedin the titles of sports netnews. As far as I concerned, using thetwo syllables structure of “XV” is necessary.
