Recently credit card as a new payment tool has already influenced our social life. Fromthe report, credit card payment amount reached42.7%of total sales of consumer goods in1sthalf of2012. As the important part of China payment system, China Unionpay was pushingthe development of China credit card industry. Based on this environment, it’s quite urgent forChina Unionpay to build up a new global network.Firstly, we looked into the various WAN technologies such as Framerelay and ATM etc.Then, we proposed MPLS VPN as the solution for this global network from the businessrequirement of China Unionpay and solved following key problems:1)Leverage COS tosuccessfully support end to end high quality assurance;2)Leverage Unilink to successfullysupport multiple logical links within one physical link in order to cover various applications;3) Using IPSec over MPLS to guarantee the high safety on data.After that, we researched the features of these key technologies as well as verified thembased on lab environment. Then based on the real situtation of China Unionpay globalnetwork we worked out the detailed design and optimized configuration accordingly.Lastly, we verified and tested the network in a real envirnoment. The performance wasquite good, passed the test and reached the expectation of China Unionpay definitely. Duringthe shakedown period, the network showed good security and stability.The MPLS networkwas approved feasible and also deployed in the practice.
