The traditional meteorology monitoring system has some deficiency andshortcoming in the publication and sharing of meteorological data, and the connectionbetween nodes. In order to improve the system, this paper designs and implements ameteorology monitoring system in which nodes are connected to each other andconnected to the Internet, based on the basic idea of internet of things, a new networkthat connected by normal things. There is not uniform standards to identify the things in the network currently, anddifferent systems can not connected to the network together in meteorology industry. Inorder to achieve the identification of the meteorology monitoring systems that connectedto the network, this paper proposes and designs a data structure that represents theidentity of the system. After application of this identity data standard, differentmonitoring systems can connected to the internet of things together, and achieve datasharing. After analyzing the technique model, structure and key technology of the internet ofthings, this paper chooses the wireless sensor network technology to build the monitoringsystem. The wireless sensor network is based on the ZigBee communication protocol, which can implement a system that is low consumption, self-organization and largescope. This paper also introduces the hardware and software design of the wireless sensornetwork. The hardware design is based on the CC2430chip, which is the first ZigBeeSOC chip produced by the TI company. The design also includes the sensor circuit andthe antenna part. And the software design is based on the free, open source protocol stackZ-Stack, which is also produced by TI company. This paper analyzes the structure andoperational scheme of the protocol stack. And the design adds a custom application to theOSAL operating system, which is the core of Z-Stack. And the custom applicationcollects the identity and meteorology data of all nodes in the network, and transport tothe monitoring PC.
