The Design And Implementation Of Intelligent Fire Locating And Rescue Terminal

The frequent fire disaster threatens people a lot in safety and property. Worse still, thenew buildings are increasingly high and complex, which brings greater risk and challengeto firefighters. It is critical to locate the fire quickly and make fire rescue more efficientand less dangerous to minimize casualties and property loss.In this paper, we design and implement a portable and battery-powered terminal forfire locating and rescue. This terminal is the combination of the wireless fire alarm systembased on ZigBee and the Android OS. People armed this terminal can use it in the buildingwith this kind of wireless fire alarm system installed. In the fire scene, he can view theoptimal evacuation route and the location of the fire and himself on the Android phone. Itacts as a fire rescue guider, and can make fire rescue more efficient.This paper first presents the significance of this mobile terminal. Then it describes theentire design according to the functional requirements. It divides the function into threeparts, which are communication module, personal locating and software on Androidplatform. The communication module fulfills the communication between fire alarmsystem and Android phone, including the communication between mobile module and firealarm system through ZigBee protocol and the communication between mobile moduleand Android phone through Bluetooth protocol. And also it defines the unified data format.In personal locating, with the received Bluetooth message, the phone computes thisperson’s location by the algorithm packaged in the software. The software on Androidplatform is actually an Android application which can embed map and display the firelocation, evacuation route and firefighter’s position on it and also list all the details of thefire nodes.In the ending, paper tests all the functions of this intelligent fire locating and rescueterminal and analyses the results. In the meantime, it suggests the method to improve themobile terminal’s functions in future.
