With the development of communication technology, we have a variety of means ofcommunication, but more and more means of communicatiaon confused pepole‘s live.Unified Communication(UC) which combined traditional telephone, fax and moderninstant messaging ara more and more widely in enterprise applications. UnifiedCommunications connects a variety of independent means of communication together, forthe enterprise,it can enhance the efficiency, while reducing the cost; for person, it makesInformation sharing and communication become easier and more convenient. XMPP hasmany advantages, like a very strong extensibility, higher security, the smaller content andso on, it has a unique advantage in UC. But XMPP can‘t meet all the needs of the unifiedcommunication. This paper analyzes the XMPP Core, the file transfer and binary streaming protocolof XMPP extension protocol. The paper design the offline file transfer protocol anddocument sharing protocol which is not supported by XMPP. The paper design the offlinefile transfer protocol which is not supported by XMPP conbined file transfer protocol ofXMPP and the filetransfer protocol. The offline file transfer protocol use the mechanismwhich consultation and file transfer mode are separated, the consultation realized byextending XMPP; file transfer mode use WebDAV through comparison of the existing filetransfer such as FTP, WebDAV and so on.so it is a mode of out-band.Then, the paperanalyze the existing sharing doucument protocol and Its lack of UC in detail. The paperdesign XMPP Extension Protocol used in UC which conbined RFB(VNC) and XMPP.Document sharing protocol includes not only the one-on-one, but also the one to many inthe enterprise remote meeting. The Extension Protocol has many advantages, such asextensibility, security and bandwidth consumption.
