The Uim (unified Instant Messaging) System Client Design And Implementation

Instant Messaging (IM) has performed as one of the most popular applications in Internet. As more and more IM systems swarm into the market, the enterprises incorporate IM in enhancing the realtime information communication.This thesis provided profound discussion of IM and analyzed the needs of IM users. It used Jabber based XMPP technology, the knowledge of Presence and IM, and the SSL security protocol to build the Unified Instant Messaging (UIM) client.Based on open source instant messaging system--Jabber, the UIM system used XMPP protocol to exchange information, presence and other structured information between two entities in Internet. The UIM not only supported the connection of PC clients, but also supported the realtime access of mobile devices. It provided three categories for instance messages communication: between PC, between mobile devices, between PC and mobile devices. The security consideration was the strong privilege over other IM systems in the market.We set the UIM to integrate future mobile value-added services. We also discussed the development of those services. This thesis finally summarized Jabber in the integrated UIM system and provided the future trend of the IM development.
