With the development of communication technology, there are more and more ways of communication. Howerver, it’s difficult to commnunicate between different communication ways because they are often independent of each other. That seriously affects the efficiency of communication. Both enterprises and individuals hope there is a unified platform integrated all of ways of communication, which makes people could communicate each other in any ways. Unified Communication (UC), which is just to realize communicating with each other in anytime, anywhere, through any network, emerges because of demands.After several years of development, UC has been trending to mature. Many companies have launched its own products of UC platform successively or provided UC solutions. More and more enterprises have deployed UC solution to improve the efficiency of communications among staffs so that it improve the enterprise competitive strength. Howerver, majority of current UC products and UC solutions are focused on deployment of hardware or UC system, it usually requires enterprises to update numbers of infrastructures which are costly and tough to maintain or update. So, a plenty of providers began to forcus on soft solutions.At present, majority of UC soft solutions are based on SIP and XMPP protocol. In this paper, we propose a SME-oriented and personal-oriented UC soft solution based on SIP and XMPP protocol. This solution provided services to users through a Client Platform which integrated multiple communications, such as audio, vedio. instant message, file transfer, conference and so on. Client Platform has characteristics of strong stability, esay maintenance and low cost. Besides, Client Platform provides support to both enterprises and personal users. Moverover, Clinet Platform, as an open platform, provides lots of API which is convenient for 3rd application to refuse and secondary development.In this paper, we will detailedly described the UC client platform. The major work of this paper include:At first, we do research on SIP and XMPP protocol to provide theoretical basis for this system; Next, we design the architecture of platform according to the system requirements we analyzed; Then, we relize the platform through program language; At last, we test and verify the platform.
