Discussion On Integrated Regional Collaborative Model Of Medical Information System

National Health has become the country’s national strategic component. However,existing problems in the medical and health services are still a significant impedimentto maintaining a healthy citizenry. Being information-intensive and requiring frequentinformation exchanges, the medical and health services industry heavily depend oninformation technology to enable its information interoperability. The ever evolvinginformation technology continues to push the capacity of a variety of health services,especially those whose core business focus on regional-level information sharingand business collaboration, to a new level. The development in health services willultimately contribute to the enhancement of China comprehensive strength. Chinaregional health information construction utilizes information technology as its supportplatform and, through resources and information sharing among medical institutionsat all levels, conducts trials of the integrated health service model and its operatingmechanism. Such a model, when fully functional, is intended to alleviate thenotorious ‘difficult and expensive’ problems experienced by patients seeking medicalassistance. Such model will also enable specialty hospitals to focus on treatment andresearch of incurable diseases, while contributes to the improvement of patient’s trustand doctor’s proficiency in general hospitals. When fully built, such model will proveto be a win-win mechanism that brings real benefits to both patients and medicalinstitutions alike.The main content of this paper is to describe the construction of the integratedhealth information exchange platform, using J2EE technology system combined withSOA service-oriented architecture and Web Services; it also describes, using suchplatform as basis, the establishment of integrated health care institutions utilizinginformation exchange platform for two-way referral, EMR mutual transfer andprescription sharing. And finally, the paper touches on data integration, data logicdesign and data analysis application design for the data analysis platform inhospital-level medical institutions.Integrated health information exchange platform system uses a centralizedstructure to acquire data via passive collection and upload data via active push. It alsogives the core business description, business data planning, the general framework of the integrated platform software, and network infrastructure design. For illustration, ageneral hospital in Beijing is used to describe the detailed design of the hospital-leveldata analysis platform.
