The Research Of Multi-Media Power Management IC APLITE Test Cost Reduction

Power management IC is widely used in many types of Consumer Electronics,especially in multi-media devices. In order to satisfy customers’ requests, multi-mediapower management IC can provide accurate and controllable multi-channel outputvoltage, and it’s also integrated multi-media application and ports, such as highperformance audio controller, touch screen controller and real time clock, etc. Theabundant configuration makes the IC to be flexible and integrated, when it works withthe micro processor in multimedia devices, the applications provide a colorfulelectrical world to the user. So the client base and various application of the devicerequire the stricter final test of the IC, the test of the power management IC must be ina base of function and reliability to run mass production, and consider the costreduction of test. This paper firstly introduce the theory of structure and test of powermanagement IC, then focus on the study of test cost reduction from the points ofhardware, software and industrial process. The factory premises to ensure the stabilityand reliability of the product, and based on this, realize high efficient test. The studyimproves the actual production, makes the yield improved significantly; also themulti-test method makes the test efficiency increase to3times as before.
