Traditional macromodel for operational amplifiers is developed byobtaining parameters of elements from measured characteristics of thecircuit. On one hand, the parameter is numerical and cannot support theclose loop analysis of circuit, on the other hand, MOS transistors are stillincluded in the macromodel, this means the macromodel only simplifiesthe circuit size and it cannot be used for symbolic analysis directly.Symbolic circuit simulator is traditionally applied to small-signalanalysis of analog circuits. This thesis establishes a symbolic behavioral modeling methodapplicable to both small-and large-signal analysis of general two-stageoperational amplifiers. The created parametric behavioral model isHspice-compatible and can be used for fast statistical simulation.Experiments show that the statistical slew rate and settling timedistribution characterized by the behavioral model has good agreement tothe transistor-level results while achieving significant speedup.
