After decades of development, the pulsed power technology is nowin the important transition from the laboratory to applications, and fromnational defense or scientific research use to industrial applications. Thedevelopment of repetitive pulsed power technology has played animportant role in this process. At present, the repetitive pulsed powertechnology is widely used in military technology, environmentalprotection, food preservation and also industry manufacturing. So, theresearch on repetitive pulse technology is catching more and moreattention at home and abroad, and many encouraging research resultscome out in recent years. In this background, combining with the requirement of the novelplasma antenna system which is in design by our group, this academicdissertation has started a study on high repetition-frequency pulsed powertechnology. In this article, based on two different MOSFET, two pulsepower of400kHz repetition-frequency have been designed anddeveloped using multi/single channel technology respectively. Theprocess of design and manufacturing is disused in detail in this article. After experiment and analysis, the two design of high repetition-frequency pulsed power is compared. To obtained higher pulse peak voltage and energy transmissionefficiency, this article also start a research on pulse transformer, especially on transmission line transformer (TLT). Then, combining withthe transmission line equivalent circuit, an improved circuit model forTLT in high repetition-frequency pulse power usage has been proposed. A6-stage TLT has been designed and manufactured based on this model. Inthe experiment, the TLT transform a pulse of400kHz from300V to1800V without much distortion. A traditional pulse transformer is alsodeveloped and applied to the pulse power system which base on a singleMOSFET. After all, the pulse of this system got a peak voltage of8000V,repetition frequency of400kHz and pulse width of200ns. This technicalcharacter is outstanding national wide and it has an extensive future andimportant role not only in military or scientific research use, but also inindustry manufacturing. Finally, the pulse power is applied to the novel plasma antennasystem. The reactor of the excimer lamp in the system acts as thedielectric barrier discharge (DBD) load to the pulse power. Thephenomenon of discharge shows the success of this experiment.
