A power supply that is able to generate fast rise time and high repetition rate pulses is needed for plasma generators, excimer laser and laser beam weapons. This designation is to deal with the output sine wave of a high frequency and high voltage power supply, the aim is to develop a high voltage and high frequency nanosecond pulse generator. The pulse generator can be used in Dielectric Barrier Discharge to generate high density and non-thermal plasma, it is the main energy supply for the research of hidden airplane theory. The effect of plasma produced by DBD correlates directly with the output waveform of the power supply, the higher the voltage, the high the frequency and the faster of the rise time, the better the effect of the discharging. Under this direction, we developed a kind of high energy pulse generator, and the output parameters are as follows: (1) the voltage output: 2~13 kV, which can be adjusted; (2) the frequency of output: 5~15 kHz, which can be adjusted; (3) the rise time of the pulse output: 400ns~1000ns. We present a new method to develop a high voltage and high repetition rate nanosecond pulse generator by combining power electronics and pulsed power technology. The required target of the power supply is realized by two stapes. Fist, we design an inverter power supply with adjustable magnitude and frequency based on power electronics. Next use the high frequency transformer to magnify the voltage output from the supply and adjust its magnitude to 0~20kV and its frequency to 5~25 kHz. Then, transform it through the pulse sharpening circuit consisting mainly of capacitances and magnetic switches, finally outputting the high voltage and high repetition rate nanosecond pulses. The dissertation introduce the principles of the high energy pulse generator, and the designation method of the magnetic switch are analyzed in detail concretely; analyzed the principles of the high frequency inverter power supply, high frequency transformer, pulse sharpening circuit, magnetic switch, and etc; the PSPICE simulation model has been established, and simulate the processing of the circuit; study and analyze the input-output characteristics of every partials of the circuit of the pulse generator, and the examination data and waveforms are shown; compare and analyze the results of the simulation and the experiment, and find out the processing discipline of the circuit. Through the testing of the pulse power supply, we reached the expected indexes and succeed in using the power supply in the experiment of DBD, and it was running stable and credible. The pulse power supply should go through certain improvement in order to reach the higher demand of applications. Thus, the dissertation proposed improved schemes of the power supply and expectation of other design plans in the end.
