Dielectric barrier discharge is one of the mainly method of low temperature plasma occurs, widely used in material surface modification, ozone making and so on. Dielectric Barrier Discharge uses high voltage ac power supply, the voltage and the frequency which the power source outputs, as well as matching loads characteristic have direct relation with the effect of DBD.In order to solve this problem, this paper puts forward an overall design scheme of high voltage frequency variable power supply, its main parameters as follows:rated power of1000W, the input voltage is220V and50Hz alternating current, the output of high voltage alternating current (ac), the maximum of20kV adjustable and working frequency range0.5kHz to1.5kHz. The high voltage frequency variable power supply is mainly composed of rectification filter circuit, DC chopper circuit, inverter circuit, drive and control circuit and display circuit, high voltage transformer and other components. Then uses the copper sulfate solution resistance and coaxial cylinder dielectric barrier discharge plasma generator as loads, tests the performance of the power supply.Respectively, apply high voltage pulse power supply,50Hz high voltage power supply and high voltage variable frequency power supply as power supply of DBD, according to the generate of ozone concentration and the efficiency of ozone generation to choose the optimal power supply for the processing system. The results showed that high voltage frequency variable power system for the power supply, the system generated ozone concentration are the highest. With the high voltage frequency variable power supply for power supply, phenol as the goal pollutant, initial concentration of phenol is100mgL-1, the capacity of40L, the processing time is3h, gas flow rate is1.5m3h-1. Respectively to investigate the influence of power supply voltage and frequency to the effects of the degradation of phenol in DBD water treatment system and to provide technical support for the application of expanded in the industrial. The experimental results show that improved the voltage and frequency of power supply is advantageous to the degradation of phenol. When the power supply voltage is20kV, frequency of1.5kHz, phenol degradation rate can reach73.1%.
