The low-temperature plasma has very wide prospects in industrial application. At present, most studies of producing plasma are focused on those produced by Dielectric Barrier Discharge(DBD) under atmosphere. The effect of plasma produced by DBD correlates directly with voltage, frequency and wave-form of the power supply. The higher the voltage and the frequency of the power supply, the better the effect of discharging. Under this direction, we developed a kind of inverter power supply, and the parameters are as follows: (1)the input of three-phase alternating current; (2)the output of sinusoidal wave; (3)the frequency of output: 5-25 kHz, which can be adjusted; (4)the voltage of output: 5-20 kV, which can be adjusted. This design adopted the input of 380 voltage alternating current, which becomes direct current by three-phase rectification, then adjusted the voltage through Buck circuit, converted into alternating current through IGBT, realized the output of high frequency high voltage sinusoidal wave through inductor to leach wave and high frequency transformer to elevate voltage at last. The voltage and frequency of output was achieved by the shutting down of IGBT which is controlled by chip 80C196 and SG3525.The thesis introduced the development principle of the power supply in detail, analyzed the rectification circuit, Buck circuit, inverter circuit, drive and protection circuit, etc. The thesis also give the design and winding method of transformer, the flow chart and some program of the software, and analyzed the experimental wave form at last.Through the research and development of the power supply, we reached the expected indexes and succeed in using the power supply in the experiment of DBD. However, the transformer parts wear down much more when at relatively high output voltage and relatively heavy load. It shows that the design of the transformer is not very satisfactory. The output wave form of the power supply should go through certain improvement in order to reach a more ideal state of discharging. Thus, the thesis proposed improved schemes of the power supply and expectation of other design plans in the end .
