The Research Of Network Routing Protocol Emulation Of The Wireless Communication In ITS

As a new research direction in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Communicationare an important foundation of road traffic control and traffic flow guidance, which have asignificant value on the application of driving safety, reducing the traffic accidents andimproving the comfort of driving.As an important part of the intelligent transportation system，the wireless communicationsystem of vehicle-to-road and vehicle-to-vehicle has been paid more and more attention. Thesystem exchanges and provides the related information about safe driving mainly betweenneighboring vehicles or between vehicles and roadside infrastructure to improve drivers’vision, help drivers to drive safely and reduce the traffic casualties in cities.As the key point, the communication network in intelligent transportation system isstudied in this paper. The main research work is as follows:1. We analyzed the wide-area wireless communication technology in intelligenttransportation system: digital radio and mobile communication network; focusing on the localarea wireless communication technology: Dedicated Short Range Communications. And theMedia Access Control is detailed discuss.2. The communication network in intelligent transportation system is researched:including ad-hoc network and vehicular communication systems. The network layer routingprotocol which is in the inter-vehicle communication systems is detailed analysis.3. We study the performance of different routing protocols in inter-vehiclecommunication systems with NS-2. Through comparison of Packet delivery fraction, Averageend-to-end delay of data packets and arriving time of the first data packet, we choose a properrouting protocol which is suitable for inter-vehicle communication systems simulation.
