All-solid-state UV laser play an important role in the precise materials making,biomedical, scientific research, laser weapons and so on. And All-solid-state UV laser hasbecome a hot research field of laser because of it have more advantages of high efficiency,impact structure,better beam quality than traditional. Based on scientific research andmarket needs, this paper is to design a practical industrial UV laser. This paper introducesexamples of UV lasers used in all areas, and the research background of all-solid-state UVlaser as well as the present development at home and abroad, indicating the need fordevelopment of UV laser. Then the rate equation, Q-switch technology, nonlinear opticalfrequency conversion technology and other key principles were introduced. Throughcomparing the commonly used comer-cially available re-introduced the laser crystal andnonlinear crystal, Nd:YVO4、KTP、LBO were selected as the appropriate design of thecrystal material. Finally, the most appropriate design, end-pumped, the mode of frequencyconversion were selected, and thermal lens, cavity length, crystal size were analyzed andcalculated. The main experimental work and innovations in this thesis can be summarizedas follows:(1) Choosing semiconductor cooling and conduction cooling as our cooling syste-m,and the biggest advantages are the fixture,the real-time monitor, high the controllability;(2) Designing a suit cavity shape structure through the simulation analysis of theresonant cavity length, laser crystal and nonlinear crystal size and other parameters;(3) When the end-pump power is36A and the repetition rate is40kHz we get theaverage power2.81W, green laser pulse width35ns and500mW of UV laser.
