Wireless sensor network is a special wireless network that consists of many scatteredsensors and several access points. One of its biggest challenges is energy conservation. However, its data gathering methods, which can be categorized into two class-single hopclass and multi-hop class, have inborn limitations on energy perspective. In order to solve this, hybrid strategies are one kind methodology to overcome thisenergy limitation on a certain degree. Based on it, we proposed the progressivedecentralized single hop data gathering method. It made the network’s nodes choose theirmodes to run under the constraint of a specific set of rules. The rules guaranteed that thenodes are using their energy at approximately same rate. So, the method can help balancethe network energy dissipation. And it lengthened the network lifetime. Not only did weprove the righteousness of our strategy in math, but also in simulations. Moreover, Thenetwork could always work better if it got better routing strategy. So, In order to make ourstrategy more perfect, we proposed a behavior-geography based routing scheme in mobilead hoc networks. Just as its name implies the routing scheme involved in twoelements-behavior and geography. We use the behavior of a thing to predict its movement. The geographical element is added to help the message sending procedure. The aim of thisrouting strategy is, if not energy conserving, let the messages reach their destinations morepossible.Through the analysis of the simulations, our theories in math are basically matchedwith the simulation results. Besides, these results show that it has fifty percent to ninetypercent improvement compared to the hybrid strategy. And it has ten percent to thirtypercent improvement compared to the low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy. In short, the strategy did make the network more energy efficient and more effective.
