As the fourth-generation power technology, fuel cell is the inevitable trend of human todevelop efficient and clean energy in21st century. The core component of fuel cell is theMEA (membrane electrode assembly), therefore, it’s significant for the development of MEAmanufacturing equipment. As a result of CCM preparation process which improved thecatalyst efficiency, GDL laminated equipment represents a trend of MEA manufacture. Thispaper mainly designs the temperature control system of hot curing module in GDL equipment,analysis temperature distribution of hot head, improves internal model PID SISO controlmethods and applies to the GDL hot pressing head temperature control, and finally realizesthe control goal.Firstly, the temperature distribution of hot head influenced by the location of heatingelement is simulated, verify the configuration program meets the requirement of temperaturecontrol, and the important components are selected based on simulation results.Later, the temperature control system is designed according to equipment specifications.After the overall design of hardware scheme, gives a detail analysis on the key modulecircuits of temperature collection, the heating drive and power supply; based on overallsoftware plan, the important flow chart system initialization procedure, the temperatureacquisition and control, and serial communication program is designed.Then, the IMC-PID controller is designed for SISO temperature control, analysis itsstability and steady-state accuracy. Compared with traditional PID control, IMC-PIDsimplifies the parameter tuning, and improves the system performance of control accuracyand rapid response.Finally, the paper introduces the modeling of MIMO hot pressing head, and the accuracyand uniformity of GDL hot pressing head based on actually test. The experimental resultshows that the design meets the requirements of process indicators.
