Fuel cells was seen as one of the "Green energy" in 21th century with the merits of non-pollution, high efficiency, low noise, and much more steady working performance. It will have a bright future for applying the Fuel cells to the electric propulsion vessel. The recent research shows the parameter such as temperature and humidity have the crucial effect for improving the performance and running life of the Fuel Cells.The recent study are also very concerned about how to control the parameters of fuel cell.So we design the fuel-cell monitoring system and make the futher study based on the Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC).In this paper, the significance of research, and the primary content are introduced. Then the correlative conception of PEMFC, the composing of Fuel Cell system, the principle of Fuel Cell is described in detail.In accordance with the analysis of the important factors that effect on the PEMFC, the detailed monitoring system method is provided.The nether system with the core chip AT89C52 is designed to apt to measure.In this system.Testing humidity adopts HS1101 humidity sensor.The measurement of temperature adopts DS18B20 temperature sensor and the measurement value is displayed by LEDs. The Fuel Cell temperature is controlled by cooling fan which adopts PWM control. The data collection unit, the PWM output unit and the timer are controlled by the AT89C52.We designed the above system on the basis of the hardware,and realized serial communication,make it possible to measure the temperature humidity and voltage of the PEMFC in real time. Then the PID method is used to realize the optimization control by regulating input temperature parameters after it is selected to deal with.The fuel-cell monitoring system is realized by using software Visual Basic. With its friendly interface board, easy programme style and strong real-time performance,it is easy to debug.The Access database is also designed to place the selected data,it is convenient for user to take out and check history parameter data from it.The whole system which is actually achieved is debugged.
