Based on the cases of the inquiry of People’s Congress since1979and the reports oninquiry since2000, this essay analyzes the situation of inquiries and reports on inquiry,and then sums up some problems of the reports on inquiry, including the limitation of thepolitical environment, the limitation of the principles of journalism and communication,the lacking of attention of media, the incoordination of geography and carrier of thereports, the rigidity of the content of the reports, the monotone of the form of the reportsand the lacking of initiative of reporting. In order to solve the problems above, this essaygives out some improvements in three aspects: the reporting environment, the reportingquality and the usage of new media. As to the reporting environment, it is needed tocultivate open and tolerant political environment, improve the literacy of mediapractitioners and strengthen the media literacy education of the People’s Congressdeputies and ordinary audiences. At the aspect of the reporting quality, it is needed toincrease the number of reports based on repetitive tactics, pay attention to the planning ofreports on inquiry and strengthen the in-depth reports and comments. As to the usage ofnew media, promoting the integration of multiple medium to expand the effect of theinquiry is needed.
