Research And Implementation Of Network Layer Protocol Of Wireless Sensor Networks Based On Zigbee

Wireless sensor network is a kind of fast developing network technology. It can collect and process real-time environmental information by microsensors. Wireless sensor network deals with the information based on the embedded system and transfers data to monitoring center in multi-hop form. It achieves the concept of "ubiquitous computing". Wireless sensor network has wide applications in the fields of environmental monitoring, home automation, gas monitoring system and Internet of Things etc. Nevertheless, in the beginning stage and the theory of wireless sensor networks is immature in practice. Meanwhile wireless sensor network node has many applications, which are mainly in the low consumption and low cost applications.ZigBee is a rising wireless network technology which is use for short space and low cost. This is mainly used in wireless connection for a short distance. It can achieve harmonious communication among several hardware nodes. It consumes rarely energies on data transmission. ZigBee is considered as a suitable communication protocol for wireless sensor network.Firstly, the paper describes the current research situation of wireless sensor network in the world and its main characteristics and potential applications. The basic contents of ZigBee and the basic framework of ZigBee protocol are also introduced. The paper not only studies on ZigBee network layer protocol, but also illuminates implementation method of network layer protocol. In order to achieve low power consumption, the microcontroller based ATmega128L, CC2420RF transceiver and other chips as hardware node. At last, according to actual request, the paper introduces ZigBee which applied to the gas monitoring system. It realizes a gas monitoring system by designing some function such as real data collection, the network sets up and the nodes start and join in the network. The testing results demonstrate that the system designed with a good practical application. The research results in this paper will be valuable to research the operations theory of wireless sensor networks.WSN has been transform from fundamental research to application.
