Ultrasonic flaw detection is the main technical means to identify the deficiency ofequipment and facilities in the industrial field. The main technique most commonly used isTime of Flight Diffraction (TOFD), which is the way to detect the defect of the internalstructure relyed on the end corner and the diffraction energy endpoint.At the end of the lastcentury, TOFD detection technology has been applied in the field of most industrialnon-destructive testing. In recent years, this technology has also been vigorously promotedwith the industrial development in our country. Many enterprises and industrial units havestarted using TOFD to replace the old test way-the original RT detection technology, andTOFD test means has also made great progress in a large thick-walled containers.Based on demand of the project, the data detected by ultrasonic testing system will beprocessed and stored for subsequent data analysis. Besides the data mapping coordinates canused to draw defect information, and ultimately displayed on the LCD screen. Owing to therealization of these functions, we design a set of ultrasonic flaw detection system based onARM.The design of ultrasonic flaw detection system based on ARM is described detailed inthis thesis, including hardware design and software design. Firstly, according to therequirements of the design, the system framework and functions are introduced. The entireframework of the system is decided by the function of the system. Then, there is a detaileddescription of the system hardware design, involving various parts such as the overallproduction of schematic and the PCB design. The whole hardware design is divided into twoparts:core board and extension board. The detailed core board includes: ARM modulecommonly used in the system, SDRAM and FLASH, CF card, HPI interface. And theextension board includes: debugging extension and LCD expansion.Finally, embedded software design based on Linux operating system is introduced,including: BOOTLOADER transplantation, inside-core cutting and transplantation, theconstruction of Linux file system and the Linux device driver program.
