Bullet-train is an important part of Chinese railway transportation and an important vehiclepassenger transport carrier. Hollow axle is one of the most important force components of Bullet-trainand it is the key to ensure the security of Bullet-train. The quality condition of hollow axle affects themoving safety in high speed railway directly.Because of the purchase price, service and parts supply cycle factors, the foreign moving carhollow axle testing equipment cannot fully meet the needs of the actual testing task. In order to solvethe aforementioned problems, this thesis develops a multiple hollow axle ultrasonic flaw detectionhardware system based on FPGA. The main work is as follows:(1)This paper designs the hardware design of ultrasonic flaw detection system using pulsereflection method to detect the damage of a hollow axle. It implements Ethernet interface to PC forhigh-speed communication.(2)It successfully designs the power supply, the probe trigger and echo signal acquisition,high-speed A/D sampling circuit. According to the attenuation of ultrasonic wave propagation in themedium the paper designs and imply the time gain compensation circuit.(3)This paper proposes and implements the clock output, FIR digital filter, digital envelopedetection and non-uniform data compression for FPGA design. It solves the problems of real-timeprocessing and transmission of80MHz high-speed sampling and data stream.(4)The detector is connected to the host computer for debugging, and in contrast to the axis ofthe specimen were tested, the test results can be displayed specimen axis injury correctly. The design of the hardware platform has been applied to the hollow axle on active service. Theresults show that the system could meet the requirements of practical testing multiple hollow axle andhas great application value.
